We are sending a huge hug and a shout ou

We are sending a huge hug and a shout out to our friends and family in Alberta… who are still reeling from the effects of the mega-flood. TD Bank (TD) estimated that the loss of business and clean-up of the flood will cost the province anywhere between $500 million and $1.5 billion – or about 0.3% of Alberta’s GDP. The good news is, economists are confident that resilient Albertans will make this up in July – oh, around the time the Calgary Stampede comes to town (giddy-up, yesss!) – crossing fingers that all hotels and facilities will be ready. Furthermore, it is estimated that extra government spending in rebuilding infrastructure could end up boosting Alberta’s GDP by the end of the year, thank goodness. Meanwhile, plenty of displaced families could still use a helping hand, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with a donation via the Canadian Red Cross or buy an “Alberta Rose” donut from Tim Hortons (THI)… a sweet gesture indeed.
